Complete your Delaware Defensive Driving course as soon as you’re eligible and provide your certificate to your insurance company. That puts your discount in place to begin at the applicable policy effective or renewal date.
Under Delaware Insurance Regulation 607:
• The 10% Basic Course discount begins at the policy’s inception date or the first renewal date after you apply for the discount.
• The 15% Advanced/Refresher discount becomes effective on the next policy renewal date when the course is completed within the required renewal period.
