If you previously completed the Basic Course, the Advanced Course increases your insurance discount from 10% to 15%.
If you previously completed the Advanced Course, take the Refresher Course again to renew your 15% insurance discount.
When Do I Take Defensive Driving Again After the Basic Course?
The Basic Defensive Driving Course gives you a 10% insurance discount for three years. When it’s time to take Defensive Driving again, you’ll take the Advanced Course and receive a 15% insurance discount for three years.

If your three-year insurance discount has expired, you have up to five years from your previous course completion date to take the Advanced Course instead of starting over with the Basic Course.
